Stand Therefore

In life things will come against you, and the results will not always be what you hoped for. Being rejected for a role, Losing a job, a Car repair, or failing a class. These are just a few of the examples that life tends to throw us. Many times it's hard to accept. How do I proceed? How did I end up here? I am good person, how could God let this happen? So many questions with very few answers. It can be discouraging when all we see is what before us. The obstacles of life, and we often overlook the promises God has spoken over our lives.

I can forget that God has told me so often in the Bible. One of my favorites is Psalm 23:

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Constantly I refer to this over and over again. I have to look beyond what is in front of me and remember all the things He has for me. They may not always appear in my finances, but I know they are things that matter more than the materialistic means of life.

My biggest obstacle at the moment is my current job. It's quite a challenge to keep a good attitude at my job. Dealing with the public. Serving them in the food industry is hard. They often expect me to be a magician. A super hero, and that is not the case. They expectations are high most often, and the compensation can be minimal. I have to constantly remind myself that God is my provider, and He will take care of me. I run to Him for my answers and not the world. Where do I find these answers you ask? In the Bible. I refer to the many greats who went before me in the word of God. So many life guides and lessons that are applicable in my life.

In my book at work I have a reminder I refer to often, and that is: Nothing that I ever go through will ever compare to the cross.

Great things are coming for me though, I have had so amazing opportunities come before me with my websiode. I believe by the end of 2014 I will be able to work for myself full time. I am believing that the show will be sponsored and many doors with great opportunities will open. I wouldn't be able to has this view if I only focused on my current assignment before me, but I know God is a God of Victory. He shall provided for me. He will do the same for you.

Today I hope that you remember that where you are is not the end for you. It's the journey of life, and not the destination. I may not always remember this right away, but thankfully I have my wonderful family who keep me accountable. In my life I have been surrounded by amazing supporters. People I do not deserve to be associated with. Often when God wants to take you the next level He will bring people into your life that have gone before you. A mentor for the road ahead of you.

I believe that God has called you to great things, and I pray that you will keep walking forward. Don't be discouraged of the storm before you. Keep walking forward.

As I think about my life, and reflect on all that God has given me the ability to do. So much has changed over the last couple of years, and what would make me think that things would stop changing because it is inevitable that things will continue to change. I look at my life and I am so thankful, God has given me so much and I truly believe that He has blessed me with so many amazing new opportunities! I have been blessed by my church, and the amazing family it has provided me. I have been given the ability to speak into peoples lives that I never would have thought would be possible. I am so humbled because that was never a goal for me, and yet it has blessed me beyond all words. Encouragement is like Water to the Soul, it makes Everything Grow

In life I think back on my journey, and I think about the things that truly matter along the road thus far. I remember people along the way that have encouraged me and supported me. I think most of us in life would agree that encouragement is so important. Most us crave the cheerleaders in life that root for us along the way. Many of us have our parents that have been a source of encouragement, our siblings can often offer support. Hopefully each of you have had a teacher or boss that have encouraged you as well.
