In an Entitled Generation- Work for it

In life I am learning the dreams that are inside of me will not be achieved without the hard work it takes to get there. For each of us that will look different, and neither road will be easier. We all must overcome something to get where we are going in our life journey.

You may be working a dead end job that may seem as though it will last for ever. Someone beside you may come from a family that is financially secure, but has to overcome obstacles of being discounted their entire life.  Others may be required to set their pride aside for the sake of their job. It may be assisting someone, working for free, and the list can go on.

We all must walkthrough less than ideal circumstances, but the reward shall be greater than anything we had ever hoped. For the heart of a servant shall be greatly rewarded. When we seek nothing for the work we do, but just to be a light in the dark. Be the great example the world needs, and not in your own strength. Rely on the Lord, and you will not be disappointed.

For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.
II Thessalonians 3:10

Nothing in life is owed to any of us. We are not entitled, for we will never earn the right to anything. If we each work with that attitude we will get farther than most. In a world where much is expected, but little is worked for. Be the one willing to put that work in.

Please do not read this and think that I am the know it all of life. I am just observing and reading the heart of a true servant. Jesus set great standards for each of us to strive for.

Working in an industry of give me rather than, what would I need to do in order to be blessed with. I learn daily from my boss that nothing is owed, and everything is worked for. You will never arrive, but you sure can gain respect along the way.

My encouragement to you today is that you keep walking forward to your dreams, and each day may you put every effort in to never be better than the work. The work required, and endured to achieve the goal. Everything is given by the Lord and if your focused on Him the things that matter will come.

41 When the ten other disciples heard what James and John had asked, they were indignant. 42 So Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. 43 But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else. 45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

For Everything there is a season

As I think about my life, and reflect on all that God has given me the ability to do. So much has changed over the last couple of years, and what would make me think that things would stop changing because it is inevitable that things will continue to change. I look at my life and I am so thankful, God has given me so much and I truly believe that He has blessed me with so many amazing new opportunities! I have been blessed by my church, and the amazing family it has provided me. I have been given the ability to speak into peoples lives that I never would have thought would be possible. I am so humbled because that was never a goal for me, and yet it has blessed me beyond all words. Lately God has started to shake things up a bit for me as well, and I am still learning that I have so far to go. I am learning so much about where I am that it is crazy. Encouragement is like Water to the Soul, it makes Everything Grow

In life I think back on my journey, and I think about the things that truly matter along the road thus far. I remember people along the way that have encouraged me and supported me. I think most of us in life would agree that encouragement is so important. Most us crave the cheerleaders in life that root for us along the way. Many of us have our parents that have been a source of encouragement, our siblings can often offer support. Hopefully each of you have had a teacher or boss that have encouraged you as well.
