What Would Make My Story So Great?
When you think of a story, the first thing you think of is a book. When you think of books, you may think of some of the greatest stories ever told. The Bible, Pride and Prejudice, To Kill a Mockingbird, Gone with the Wind, Night, The Book Thief, and The Hunger Games.
The one thing about these books, they all have stories to tell. They are filled with adventure, Love, Set back, Set up, Tragedies, Death, and Pain. The stories in these books are all worth telling. From the beginning to end they paint the picture of what the author is trying to convey.
Stories can also be found in songs, and some of the greatest story tellers ever are songwriters. Our generation has been blessed with epic songs that will go on to be timeless. Taylor Swift, love her or hate her, has been blessed with the extraordinary talent of making you a part of the story. Her songs can make you smile, make you angry, and possibly even make you cry. Other greats Paul McCartney, Dolly Parton, James Taylor, and Carole King.
When I look at my life, I often wonder what my story is. What do I bring to the table, and "Is my story worth telling?" Or "Is my song worth singing?" If someone wrote a book on my life or even a song what would the message be. Could it be suspenseful? Would it be a happy song or an angry song. Would we find resolve by the end or would it be left without an ending.
Tonight I attended a movie with my family, it is a Christmas tradition. We do it almost every year. This evening we saw the movie, The Book Thief. So many thought came across my mind, What a story! Living through the Holocaust is something to talk about. On both perspectives, The Jewish, and the Germans. It breaks my heart every time to think how much pain was endured in the Jews lives. They would never be the same, they were destroyed. They were left with almost nothing. All because of what they believed.
To sum it up again, It got me thinking what would make my story so great.
I am still pondering on the thought, and I don't think I will have my answer anytime soon. It does make me think to take more chances, and to love harder. I need that love in my life. Without it, life won't make sense. Jesus is my ultimate love, but I also need love in a person. I need that wife that together we will make a team. As I pray and seek the things that will make my story worth telling, and my song worth singing. I want to challenge you as well.
Be intentional on living life. Don't be concerned with the mistakes, but be focused on God. Your story is still being written, but it will be worth telling.
Be confident in who you are! Because the Lord lives inside you!
But for this very purpose have I let you live, that I might show you My power, and that My name may be declared throughout all the earth.
