Chains be Broken-Encouragement Wednesday 5.0

Image
One of the verses that is tugging at my heart at the moment is: Formerly, when you did not know God,  you were slaves  to those who by nature are not gods.   But now that you know God—or rather are known by God —how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable forces? Do you wish to be enslaved  by them all over again? -Galatians 4:8-9 Just thinking about how amazing God is. How much He has saved us from. It's incredible to think about where we would be if the world was our ultimate goal, but it's not Jesus died for us. He transformed us the day that he changed our heart. The ways of the enemy no longer hold us back the chains are broken. This verse has such an impact on me because no matter what God's way is better, and if I am walking daily with him nothing else but Him has the power to set me free. I hope today that you can find encouragement in this to know that no matter what you are going through God can and will get you through it. Th...

How many of you have ever heard of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego? It is probably one of the greatest stories in the Bible. It is quite a lengthy chapter, but it is worth reading.  Some astrologers informed Nebuchadnezzar that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were not worshiping him. Tell him that they continue to worship their God, but do not worship his gods or the gold statue that the king had created. The king became very angry with this. The king summoned them to ask them if this was true, and if it was in fact not then he wanted to them to start worshiping him as soon as the music started play or they would be thrown in the fiery furnace. Hinting that whatever god they were serving wouldn't be able to rescue them from the fire. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego told the king that they would not serve him and that if they were thrown in the fire that their God would save them. This angered the king extremely. He then ordered th...

Leave a Legacy Behind

In a world where our excuse is time, and that we don't have much to give. We get to a place where we can almost become desensitized to the world around us. We tend to think that we should live our lives and we should be the only ones that are benefited from it.  I believe that we have the ability to change, to change the course set in the past. Just an excuse cannot cut it anymore. We have to stand up and say I can't go, but I can support those who have been called to go. We must do a little bit to support a bigger cause than ourself. If we were to give a little it would go so much further than giving none. I am guilty of believing that if I can't give something big then I probably can't do anything at all, but that is so not the case. $5, $10, $20 can make a world of difference in Cambodia, Thailand, Africa. Our third world countries need our help, but let us support our fellow friends and send them and support them on the call that God has placed on their lives...

(Parable of the Talents) What am I doing with what God has given Me.

How many of you have ever had something valuable? What is something you’ve had that was/is valuable? How many of you have made sure that you took really good care of it so that no one would harm it or damage it. But you also wanted to make sure you showed your friends and family so they knew that you had it. When they were looking at it, you said be careful because I don’t want to damage the gift. When you were showing this gift did you want to make sure that the person knew how thankful you were for it and you made sure to let the people admiring know how much you VALUED the gift. Has anyone ever read the Parable of the Talents? 14  “For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants [ a ]  and entrusted to them his property.  15  To one he gave five talents, [ b ]  to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away.  16  He who had received the fi...

Driven on Purpose or Desire

Have you lived dreaming for something that you thought was meant to be. Lived your whole life wishing, hoping, believing and realized that it was empty. Realizing that everything you thought was going to bring happiness held no weight. Disappointed in the emptiness that you felt. Praying that God would reveal to you your purpose, and why you were sent to this world.  What function you were meant to fulfill. Trusting and listening to what He says, so that everything would come together and make sense. Then you realize what you were born to do has nothing to do with the dreams you had in the past. To the world you may seem crazy because they can't explain why you would leave all that, to go where you feel better than you ever have before in your life. Words cannot explain the joy that you have while you are fulfilling that call. To be honest the world cannot explain what they don't understand, and they don't think like we think. To them what is based on purpose is somethi...
