Image
It is my true pleasure to bring all of you my #MusicMonday feature today, not only do I have an amazing interview. I get to debut this brand new layout for chrisburkmenn.com. So excited for the new look as well as all the things instore. Enough of that, getting back to todays feature. Nashville is a town full of talent, and hopefuls wanting to make it big. It's where dreams are born and also crushed. Today I am bringing to you a band that has proven that dreams do come true in this city. With a lot of hard work and for them the ride is just beginning to get crazy. With John&Jacob's schedule booking very quickly they still were able to take time and allow me the opportunity to interview them. I ran across their material on Lightning 100 a radio station here in Nashville and instantly fell in love with their song "Be My Girl." The song is so different to what we normally hear on the radio, and I knew when I heard it that this duo was going somewhere. When I...

I Lived- OneRepublic- Music Monday Feature

Image
My favorite day! Music Monday is back and I am so excited to bring you one of my favorite tracks of the year. Lately my life has become this journey, where I am searching for myself and chasing my dreams. Yearning for more than just the normal life that some settle for. Through this time I have found songs that bring me much encouragement for the road ahead. So it is a pure treat for me to bring you this song!! "I Lived" by OneRepublic, the song has enough power in it for you to chase whatever passion you have in life. It's sending us a charge, to live everyday to it's fullest. Never settling for the status quo but rising to the challenge of living a life worth feeling accomplished with. Ryan Tedder is no stranger to writing quality songs, after penning such tracks in the past for powerhouses: "Bleeding Love,"(Leona Lewis) Rumor Has it,"(Adele) and "Already Gone."(Kelly Clarkson.) Tedder delivers another song that will receive just as ...

Not Yet- Jenn Bostic- Music Monday Feature

Image
Photo credit Michael Ernst Bostic Photography I have been looking forward to this feature on Music Monday since I was granted an interview with Jenn Bostic! I first heard this song when I watched the music video for it on Vevo. I was truly inspired by the underdog prevailing over the situation at hand in the video. Having fought the good fight and coming out stronger, and undefeated in the end. The visualization in the song is unlike any other in the Pop genre, being considerably full of artists with a catchy hook but no substance. This song is sure to be a hit. Bostic is experiencing massive success in the UK with her hit "Jealous of the Angels" featured on her hit debut album Jealous. In "Not Yet," Jenn brings a refreshing song for the difficult times that our country and world are in, and that message; is to stay true to who you are, and fight for what you believe. It is with great honor and privilege that I bring to you our featured song of the day, ...

Gone, Gone, Gone-Phillip Phillips- on Music Monday

Image
Exclusive cover only available here! It's not often in Pop music that you find a talent that truly steps outside of the box and provides music that has meaning and a clean message. To one of the true talents that came from American Idol, other than Kelly Clarkson the original, and Carrie Underwood. A tough feat for the males of Idol struggling to find success past alums include: Ruben Studdard with a short lived career, Taylor Hicks with a few moments of success, Kris Allen which has quality music but failed to stay on his label, and David Cook that has been commercially unsuccessful. Scotty Mccreery is an exception to this standard since he has had success in the Country genre. A breath of fresh air Phillips has been to the music scene breaking the boundaries of ordinary Pop music. Phillips had a huge success with his crowning song "Home." Now going on to bring his second single from his debut album, "The World from the Side of the Moon," "Gone, G...
