There are Miracles produced by Faith

How powerful something is when you believe. The miracles that are produced by Faith. The passion inside yourself when you strive to achieve great things!

I watched October Sky yesterday, and I must say it so much inspired me about dreaming.

The story is about a boy that faced so many obstacles in his path towards a dream that he had. He grew up in a coal mining town where almost everyone stayed except for the Football jocks because they were given scholarships. His journey starts with one woman who believed in him more than he believed in himself, his teacher. His friends thought he was crazy, and his family did not give him much support with his fascination for rockets. Except for his mother, she believed and supported him in anything he did, much like our mothers do. His father was scared because he wanted him to take over the family legacy in the coal mining field. His dreams were put to a halt when the police said he started a fire and told him that he could no longer launch the rockets he had been building. He withdrew from school and started working as a coal miner at the age of 17. After giving in to the demand of society, his father finally accepted him. Homer finally realized coal mining wasn't his DREAM, but his fathers.  Needless to say he ended up proving that his rocket was not what started the fire and re-entered school. Upon returning to school he entered a science fair and won first place and went on to get several scholarships offered and we you know the rest ended up leaving his small town life. Through all of this his teacher, the one who believed in him is diagnosed with a form a cancer and eventually dies. In the end his father finally believes in his son and supports his passion which is building rockets.

My point to all of this is that we all have Hopes and Dreams in life, and it all starts with someone who believes in us more than we believe in ourselves. We often times want to give up and give in to the world around us. Most of the time because we start to believe what they say, "You are crazy" or "You will never make anything of yourself." We even can come against the law and be forced to quit before we even start. Sometimes we are forced to take on other people’s dreams as our own so that we can feel accepted and loved. When we finally have to come to a place where we know that what has been placed inside of us, our calling is more important than anything that is thrown at us. When we begin to accept that ourselves everyone around us will begin to see it's not just some silly hobby, but our passion and our purpose. Many of times something that leads us was a step towards the calling and they may leave you much like Homer's teacher Ms. Riley.

Your dreams can take you many places. They inspire others and encourage others. You can impact a generation by the passion that is inside of you. A demand that our world needs and craves. We long for the one who overcomes because our Savior overcame. Jesus died for us he conquered death and if he did that, well then we can do anything as well through him.

People may not always understand you, but as long as you press through your life will never be normal. It will always be extraordinary.

So today I say to you, Be brave be strong, and be confident.

There is beauty in a dream, and there is hope in a belief. You can achieve nothing without someone believing in your dream before you believe.
