We often underestimate the need for a hero. One person impacting the world. Jesus was our hero. He saved us for more than we can ever know or comprehend.  We read in John 3:16 For God so loved  the world that he gave  his one and only Son,  that whoever believes  in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Today the world is crying for boldness, heroes. The truth is that we can help rescue those in bondage we can help break the chains of addiction.  Love conquers all.  And now abide faith, hope, love, these three;  but the greatest of these is love. It's no secret,   The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy we read in John 10:10. The enemy is trained he has studied us. He thinks he know how to hurt us. In the process we can end up feeling pretty hurt. The enemy can dress something to appeal us, he can make sin look pretty darn good. We are tricked in our weakness.  The bible say,  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12 So it's no surprised that we are considered a threat. The enemy knows that if we are fully devoted to the life of Christ and spreading the Gospel he will not be able to win this fight. Do you think in 1942 Jimmy Stewart and Frank Capra knew that It's a Wonderful Life would make such an impact on the world? Do you think they knew the movie would last from generation to generation  We still talk about the movie today. It is still played all day on Christmas on NBC.  It takes us back to the days when the world was somewhat more simple. It warms our hearts to see that struggles happen even in the movies. We meet George as a young boy who doesn't realize the impact he is making on the world. The only thing he is concerned with is leaving and becoming a traveler and making an impact on the world. Seeing places, meeting many faces. Not realizing that everything he is going through is impacting his own home which therefore is effecting the world. George meets an angel name Clarence, and tell Clarence he wishes he was never born. Clarence says to George, "Be careful what you wish for George." After a fantastic year, I look back thankful and grateful to every opportunity that has come my way. I have made many mistakes, but I have also had many successes. I have done things this year that I would never have thought I would ever have the opportunity to do. As I reflect on my amazing year of growth, and blessings. I remain grateful to all the people who played a part of that in my life. Jesus thank you for loving through it all! To my father Michael Menn I say you have been such a great blessing to me in this life especially this year I appreciate you more than ever. In March of 2009 I felt called to move to Nashville, TN from St. Louis, MO. God had placed on my heart that I needed a fresh start. I felt called to the city for several reasons, one major reason being my church The Oasis Church. I left with no agenda, and only the direction of the church. Many skeptics came my way with questions of, "What are you going to do?" and "You won't know anyone!" Stepping out in faith I began my journey. With very little money in my pocket, and little to know furniture in my car. I had a job at Well Fargo bank because I was able to transfer from St. Louis. I am so grateful to Wells Fargo for the ability to get to the city in which I felt called. I worked for them for 3 years and wouldn't change a thing. I learned so many things through the struggles of that job. I met more people than I can count on several fingers. In June of this year(2012) I left Wells Fargo with a fresh start. One of the most encouraging verses to me is Jeremiah 29:11. At my lowest points I always refer to this verse. It gives me hope. I calms my soul. Most importantly it changes my perspective. I think in all times we must remember that it is not in God's plan to harm us. He loves us unconditionally and nothing we could ever do will change that plan. It's the enemy who comes to seek, kill, and destroy. Not our heavenly Father. Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10 I love that our God is so good!! Know that today whatever you are going through God has you in the palm of his hand! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.
