My Father My Hero
Today in a world where superman does not exist, except in movies. Where hard work gets you everywhere and laziness get you no where.
Today's hero many of you do not know. You may never even have heard his name until now. But the impact his has made on my life goes far beyond anyone that I have ever met. The hero for Heroic Thursday is my father, Michael Menn.
Why you ask is he my hero, for obvious reasons of He is my dad, or he gave life to me. Those are both very obvious for him to be my hero.
However; I honor him as a hero because he is one of the hardest workers I have ever met in my life. He works all day everyday doing so much in the world around him. He is an active member of Faith Family church in Shiloh, IL. He has about 12 jobs working more than 80 hours a week. Contributing to the community around him for the good of everyone in it. He has always had a special connection the elderly in the community, and he serves several in his area. As a child he always pushed me to be the best that I could be, at the time I wanted nothing to do with work. I wanted to hang out with my friends and do nothing else. He taught me a good work ethic, and how to be a contributing member of society.
My father may not be a millionaire and he may not be some big executive, but I can honestly say he should be. He never takes no for an answer. Finds work when there is no work to be found. He is a million miles from a million dollars, but you could never spend his wealth.
Now, you may be reading this and might be disappointed or confused that this is who I am honoring as the hero for today. All I can say is that if you are, then you may never understand because he has taught me more than anyone I have ever met. The greatest attribute of a leader/hero is servanthood.
As I am growing I am constantly discovering traits that my father has passed down to me. I love people and my dad has instilled that into me since I was a child to love people, be the life of the party, and never let life get you down. He is a very faithful man and trusts in the Lord with his whole heart.
Father today I honor the man that you are and the man that you have taught me to become! I am truly thankful for the values that you have instilled in me! Success is earned and I truly believe that you have more success than most have ever accumulated in this world!
-Proverbs 6:6-8

Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise. Without having any chief, officer, or ruler, she prepares her bread in summer and gathers her food in harvest.
