Be the Change 2.0

In life, we have the choice to conform to the world or help change it. Nothing can be done in our own strength, we must first realize this. From there, everything else is by faith. 

How many of you would say the world is kind of in a mess right now? I think we can all agree. But here are some simple steps on how to be the change you wish to see.

Have you ever asked yourself, "What kind of impact do I want to make on this world?" I know most of us have, most of us in vain. "How can I get people to know me" or "How can I live forever?"

Even I have been in those situations. I remember when I first started seat filling in 2009 for the CMA’s. I really thought “this is my time to be a star this is it!!” Well, my heart was wrong and so was my attitude.

The honest answer is: life isn’t about you and you can't live forever. However, you can be a part of something that is bigger than you and that will outlast you.  How?  By helping to spread the Gospel, allowing Christ's name live forever and ever.

God gave us a charge, a mission, in Mark 16:15:

And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.

As it has been said, We must the change we wish to see.

If you are taking notes,  please write down this. The first way to  be the change you wish to see:

1.     Love

Give Love to all those around you:

One of the most successful ways to  be the change we see is  through Love. So much of the world is lacking love. We desire to be wanted by those around us, we search for things that will never and cannot fill the voids. If we go and love the world, we will help fill a void in the lives of the broken and in return, we will take our minds off ourselves.

“In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Acts 20:35

We know that Love is a sacrifice, and we often think that by giving love to someone else we are helping them, but in all cases they are helping us.

Because we know that Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice and that is the greatest love ever given.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

We read in this that God gave his one and only son, and that truly is the greatest gift ever given, the greatest love ever!

I mean imagine you giving up something that you love so much, maybe your xbox, ipod, ipad. How hard would that be to do? Luckily in this moment none of those items you are going to give up. But if you do I am always accepting gifts. But one thing you can sacrifice today is

Here is number 2 on how to Be the change you wish to see:

2.     Time

Give your time:

Now this can start with your Mom or Dad be sacrificing your time, and help around the house. Start there, I am sure they will be utterly shocked when you ask they may even pass out.

That is our charge, it is our mission.  To better this world and help better the people.

Wherever you are and whatever you are going through the only way that we can get out of our mess is by helping.

You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

~Ephesians 4:22-24

God changes our heart when we come to him. He makes all things new. So then if we are changed we should help change the world  around us, shouldn’t we?

The true test is what we with do with what God has given us, and he has given each of us the ability to help change the world. Make it better, and help defeat the enemy.

What do we do with things that mean something to us? We hold it high we esteem it, we take care of it. We also want other people to see it.

If you get a nice new phone you know you are showing everyone a their mother. Hey look at my phone. It’s the new Iphone or your Galaxy 3 for you android fans. Check it out. But don’t touch, right? Because it’s new or expensive or whatever.

Well God has given us everything we have in our life. He has blessed us with these things. Our time is one of the most valuable gifts ever. So we must in turn spend it very wisely.

Here is the third and final way to Be the Change you wish to see:

3.     Serve

Serving will be the true thing that separates us because we are glorifying Him:

In all things your actions as Disciples(Christians) should show just as much, scripture says:

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

~Matthew 5:16

We have to show the world Christ because if not you or I then who? We cannot chance someone else doing it, we have to!

Because if we don’t, it may never get done. And those people could go to hell. Imagine the worse place ever created and you could help save someone for that misery that will last an eternity for their souls.

Let us not lose sight of our ultimate goal and that is to have eternal life in heaven. To not die, but to live forever.

“Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.”

~John 14:23 KJV

This is really neat, The word “abode” in that verse is the same as in verse 2. The word simply means a

dwelling.

It is, however, the Greek word from which we get the word “mansion.”  

I truly do believe there are mansions in heaven waiting for people who are bringing people with them. I mean did you get what Jesus said, and he doesn’t lie so if he says it then it’s true. These wonderful things are waiting. I don’t know about you but I want me a house in heaven a mansion!

When we live out the word, when we need to spread the Gospel we can guarantee that we have this place in heaven.

I pray that you take this message to the streets and pour into your generation and the next. May you serve in here in our church, at adopt a block, the bridge, wherever you can. Our lives are not own they were purchased with a price.

I know, O LORD, that the way of man is not in himself, that it is not in man who walks to direct his steps.

Jeremiah 10:23

What is this scripture saying, Is it saying that the way of man is bad, wicked. But the way of the Lord is good.? If we let him lead us God knows best and if we follow God he shall lay out our steps.

So the 3 ways to Be the change you wish to see are,

1.     Love

2.     Time

3.     Serve
