Return to Pooh's Corner
Thinking of this song brings back so many memories to me. Some of you may never have heard it, but Return to Pooh's Corner by Kenny Loggins is one of my favorite songs. If you know me, you know this. My Dad use to call me Christopher Robin when I was a kid, and he use to sing me this song.
I can remember when I was little my Dad use to drive this tiny tiny truck, my Mom would refer to it as the piece of junk. We all were not found of that truck. He went through several junky cars when I was a kid.
But to be honest I can remember hating it at the time, but looking back loving it. We would always go places and do things. We never sat at home, which is probably why I am always so busy.
But when we were riding in this truck my Dad had this song on cassette player. We would wear it out as we did with most songs, Jesse's Girl, Everybody wants to be a cat. We would sing at the top of our lungs. I think of those days often now. So much more simple. It may also be because I am far from home, but just something about it makes me smile. My Dad loves to have fun, and he loves to be crazy(which is where I got it from, yes!)
Whether you are a Pooh fan or not, I am sure we can all agree that he is a very popular character in our culture. He is loving, caring, kind, and generous(except when it comes to honey.)
It is a great song that talks about the great times Pooh, and his friend Christopher Robin had together in the 100 acre woods. The laughs, and great times they had together. They always find their way back though if they ever get lost. As friends Christopher takes great care of Pooh. I think we can all pray that we have someone in our life's like the friend that they are to one another.
Although in life sometimes we may feel overwhelmed with the problems of this we world, we have to remember that these are the good days. When we are living, we must live for today. Because these days will soon be over and all we will have are the memories. Never live with any regrets. Always live the way we should and not the way we shouldn't.
Thank you Dad for calling me Christopher Robin, and thank you for always singing me this song. It still makes me smile. Love your son! I can't wait to come home for Thanksgiving!
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
