Love is worth the Sacrifice

Has anyone else been as fascinated as I am with reading the story of the beginning, especially Adam and Eve. Discovering where we came from and what it means. He created everything, The light, water, land, fish, birds, trees, humans, and so much more. It's such a beautiful thing to comprehend.

One of my favorite verses in the entire Bible is Genesis 1:1-2

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

Reading that and seeing how dark the world was how empty it was without God. That is so symbolic because are lives are like that without Christ, empty, dark, and formless.

When God comes in he transforms us makes us new. No matter how empty we are he comes and transforms us into an amazing masterpiece. We had always been a work of art, but never reached our full potential until he came a long!

It such an amazing concept to think about. We are nothing without God.

That wasn't entirely why I wrote this blog, but I feel as though it needed to be said.

     Thinking of Adam and Eve,

15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die."
     Genesis 2:15-17

One of the most famous stories in the Bible, God gave Adam and Eve the freedom to choose not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and if they did they would die.

We all know how the story ends, Adam and Eve eat from the tree.

I think the greatest thing about God in this story is that God freely gave them the choice, he did not make Adam and Eve obey him. He took a risk. He took a bold risk, that would have astonishing consequences. He let others into his story, and he lets their choice shape it extremely.

God does not walk away from the mess that we have made of this world.

The Lord chooses when to intervene. Miraculous things happen when scripture says, "Then the Lord intervened."

In my life, God rescued me from so much. He tendered my heart and changed me and made me new. When he intervened in my B.C. ways, he transformed me from the inside out. Changed old desires of false idols seeking for people to make me feel good. I thank you Lord for freeing me from those chains. Thank you for giving me the choice. The greatest form of Love that God has given was sacrifice he does it time and time again. Adam and Eve, Jesus.

If today you are reading this and you have no idea of what I am saying, I pray that God does a work in you and does for you what he has for me. I am forever in debt and will serve him all my days. I am not perfect, but his sanctification is a daily work and I am walking closer and closer to the Lord daily!
