Leave a Legacy Behind

In a world where our excuse is time, and that we don't have much to give. We get to a place where we can almost become desensitized to the world around us. We tend to think that we should live our lives and we should be the only ones that are benefited from it. 

 I believe that we have the ability to change, to change the course set in the past. Just an excuse cannot cut it anymore. We have to stand up and say I can't go, but I can support those who have been called to go. We must do a little bit to support a bigger cause than ourself. If we were to give a little it would go so much further than giving none.

 I am guilty of believing that if I can't give something big then I probably can't do anything at all, but that is so not the case. $5, $10, $20 can make a world of difference in Cambodia, Thailand, Africa. Our third world countries need our help, but let us support our fellow friends and send them and support them on the call that God has placed on their lives.

 Several of my friends are taking the steps this year into a trip that will change lives and help spread the Gospel. The picture is bigger than them, and they have answered the call. Having very little answer, but believing in the purpose of it being bigger than themselves and wanting to do anything they can to help leave a legacy. Help show the love of Jesus. We are called to love, and Jesus said, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35

 We are called to show love to one another, and I truly believe that if we show love to others it shall return to us. Maybe not financially, but you shall reap a full harvest.

As I think about my life, and reflect on all that God has given me the ability to do. So much has changed over the last couple of years, and what would make me think that things would stop changing because it is inevitable that things will continue to change. I look at my life and I am so thankful, God has given me so much and I truly believe that He has blessed me with so many amazing new opportunities! I have been blessed by my church, and the amazing family it has provided me. I have been given the ability to speak into peoples lives that I never would have thought would be possible. I am so humbled because that was never a goal for me, and yet it has blessed me beyond all words. Lately God has started to shake things up a bit for me as well, and I am still learning that I have so far to go. I am learning so much about where I am that it is crazy. Encouragement is like Water to the Soul, it makes Everything Grow

In life I think back on my journey, and I think about the things that truly matter along the road thus far. I remember people along the way that have encouraged me and supported me. I think most of us in life would agree that encouragement is so important. Most us crave the cheerleaders in life that root for us along the way. Many of us have our parents that have been a source of encouragement, our siblings can often offer support. Hopefully each of you have had a teacher or boss that have encouraged you as well. Looking back on my life I have had some great support in chasing my dreams. I remember I was in the 8th grade at Mascoutah Middle School when I auditioned to host our talent show.
