Not Yet- Jenn Bostic- Music Monday Feature

Image
Photo credit Michael Ernst Bostic Photography I have been looking forward to this feature on Music Monday since I was granted an interview with Jenn Bostic! I first heard this song when I watched the music video for it on Vevo. I was truly inspired by the underdog prevailing over the situation at hand in the video. Having fought the good fight and coming out stronger, and undefeated in the end. The visualization in the song is unlike any other in the Pop genre, being considerably full of artists with a catchy hook but no substance. This song is sure to be a hit. Bostic is experiencing massive success in the UK with her hit "Jealous of the Angels" featured on her hit debut album Jealous. In "Not Yet," Jenn brings a refreshing song for the difficult times that our country and world are in, and that message; is to stay true to who you are, and fight for what you believe. It is with great honor and privilege that I bring to you our featured song of the day, &qu

To Find Out we Must Step Out-Encouragment Wednesday- April 24

Image
Welcome to another Encouragement Wednesday! God is so amazing, the way he tests our faith. They are often a setup to something great! God is testing our faith constantly. He wants to grow our faith so that we can endure long. Whatever attack comes against us from the enemy God wants us to lean on him and trust him. Not all the time can we accuse the enemy often God is wanting to use the struggle for his glory.  Today I want to focus on Jesus sending his disciples out into the storm in Matthew 14. He sent them out knowing that there was a storm coming. Funny that God would send them out into a storm, it says in scripture that Jesus made them get in the boat. Today I want to focus on Peter's faith in that story. We often look at Peter with the attitude that he had no faith. We must think about this though, he had to have some kind of faith for him to have gotten out of the boat. He was the only disciple to step out of the boat. All the other disciples sat in the boat and watche

Gone, Gone, Gone-Phillip Phillips- on Music Monday

Exclusive cover only available here! It's not often in Pop music that you find a talent that truly steps outside of the box and provides music that has meaning and a clean message. To one of the true talents that came from American Idol, other than Kelly Clarkson the original, and Carrie Underwood. A tough feat for the males of Idol struggling to find success past alums include: Ruben Studdard with a short lived career, Taylor Hicks with a few moments of success, Kris Allen which has quality music but failed to stay on his label, and David Cook that has been commercially unsuccessful. Scotty Mccreery is an exception to this standard since he has had success in the Country genre. A breath of fresh air Phillips has been to the music scene breaking the boundaries of ordinary Pop music. Phillips had a huge success with his crowning song "Home." Now going on to bring his second single from his debut album, "The World from the Side of the Moon," "Gone, G

Rejoicing in Today-Encouragement Wednesday

How many of us tend to not be grateful what we have been blessed with? How about take for granted what we have been given? Today we have been given one of the greatest gifts of all, another day. For in a day the world can change. We often rush through not life and do not even realize how blessed we are. Passing through life without taking a moment to pause and be grateful for the life that we have. The family that we love, the friends that are ride or die, and the ability to be free. If we pass by life and don't take a moment to smell the roses we are not living for the moment. I know that I rush, rush, rush and don't ever really just take the day as it is and soak up God. For He created everything, and we are all living on his clock not our own. If we spend our whole life working what are really accomplishing, but work. We get so caught up in doing we often forget about being. Look at Martha and Mary: As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a vil

Honoring the Hero in you

Image
Past Honoree: Kaitlin Roig, Chris Kyle, Doreen Winkler, Tony Buuck, Zach Bonner, Allan Fonseca. (Jesus on the Cross pictured center. My vision for this day is to honor ordinary people doing extraordinary things. I feel that this will show each of us that even though we are everyday people we can still impact the world and make the change through Christ. We each have the ability to help create this world better. I choose to honor a variety of different heroes in this section I feel that there are so many different aspects that describe a one.  Today's excuses are tomorrows regrets dressed in disguise.  -Steven Furtick Let us not miss the opportunities of today, but be challenged by possibility of hope. Many of us will never get a medal to honor us with a day by our country, but that should never be our incentive. We should be driven by the love of Christ in us. Pouring into our communities around us. Small acts of kindness can bring hope to the world around us. If we e

Home is Where the Heart is

Image
Since I was a young kid I use to hear "Home is where the Heart is." I remember at the time not knowing what that meant, and struggling with the concept. My whole life I have dreamed of making something of myself. As a child I wanted to be on Kenan and Kel, and that was all I use to talk about. My Grandma Carol would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up and all I would say is that I want to be an actor. I want to move to L.A. and be on a show like Kenan and Kel! I dreamed with my whole heart and thought someday I would go and do what they were doing. I wanted to make people laugh because I enjoy laughing so much. As I grew older I became to see the dream as almost unreachable. I thought that those dreams were only given to the few who were lucky. Growing up in a normal family, those things just did not happen to normal families. Time went on and I still was not able to shake what I felt I was called to do, I started longing to move to L.A. I remember making plans w

Welcome to another #MusicMonday for April 1, 2013. I hope that you all had fantastic Easter with you and your family. The artist I am featuring this week is Jonathan Thulin and his song Dead Come to Life. Jonathan a native to Sweden is making waves in the Christian genre and has the potential to break into mainstream as well. It is an honor to know Jonathan and call him friend. I am happy to be featuring on the site for this very special #MusicMonday.  Here is my interview with Jonathan: Where do you get your influences musically especially for the concept of Dead Come to Life? Wow hard question! Music has always been a part of my emotion, it has somehow always connected me to how im feeling and has almost been an easier outlet than talking. I listen to many different kinds of music, from Brooke fraser to Linkin Park to Katy Perry. So all of these impressions kind of blend together and create the sound I have. I like to draw inspiration from many different places. When
